Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won an Emmy Award. She has also starred in dramas such as All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised with her four brothers and sisters. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of becoming an official reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in high school and then gaining commercial roles when she moved from the south of England to New York. Her first role as an actor was as a teenage innocent as a child in All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Her career as an actor has been awash by a myriad of TV films and dramas. Her career hasn't been successful or happy personal life. The talented actress struggled to overcome alcoholism and had two marriages fall apart. In 2005 she lost the custody of her son.
